The Mind at Work
The Mind at Work is about a person who admires the work of his immigrant family, telling stories of they're [[#|jobs]] and lives. One thing the author touched on was how it may seem to be that people with blue-collar jobs are less intelligent than those with college degrees. I think that in a "book smart" sense, of course they will be more educated. But blue-collar workers have skills and and experiences that most white-collar workers will never acquire. To me, this is very respectable.

My Freshman Year
I was very intrigued by the authors desire to want to study the culture of a freshman in college. Much to what I would expect, there was a decent culture gap, in which the author found it difficult to bridge. What i did not expect was for the changes in culture to be quite so different, and for her to have such a hard time adapting. This makes me interested in the future and seeing how much culture will change in just the next few years.
